Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection

The Pre-Collision System uses a camera and radar to detect vehicles and pedestrians in front of your RAV4. When the system determines that the possibility of a frontal collision is high, it prompts the driver to take evasive action and brake by using an audio and visual alert.

If the driver notices the hazard and brakes, the system may provide additional braking force using Brake Assist. If the driver doesn't brake in a set time and the system determines that the risk of collision is extremely high, the system may automatically apply the brakes, reducing speed to help mitigate the impact or avoid the collision entirely.

Important Safety Note

The Pre-Collision System is designed to supplement, not replace, safe driving practices. Always maintain awareness of your surroundings and drive safely.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist

Lane Departure Alert uses a camera to detect lane markings on the road. If the system determines that the vehicle is starting to unintentionally deviate from its lane, it alerts the driver with visual and audible alerts. Steering Assist provides small corrective steering inputs to help keep the vehicle in its lane.

The system operates when the vehicle is traveling at approximately 32 mph (50 km/h) or higher and lane markings are visible.

How to Use

  1. Press the LDA button on the steering wheel to turn the system on/off
  2. The LDA indicator will illuminate on the multi-information display when active
  3. Lane markings will be displayed on the multi-information display when detected
